Archival, Curatorial, and Other Programs
- The L. Jeffrey Selznick School of Film Preservation. This archival training program at George Eastman House, a longtime member of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF), introduces students to the experience of working in a moving image archive, transforming a passion for film into a profession.
- New York University MA Program in Moving Image Archiving and Preservation. This two-year course of study (opening in Fall 2003) trains future professionals to manage preservation-level collections of film, video, new media, and other types of digital works. The program provides prospective collection managers and archivists with an international, comprehensive education in the theories, methods, and practices of moving image archiving and preservation. The curriculum covers all aspects of moving image archiving.
- UCLA MA Program in Moving Image Archive Studies. The first university-based program of its kind in North America, this is an interdepartmental degree program offered across the Department of Information Studies and the Department Film, Television, and Digital Media, with the goal of providing not only hands-on training, but also placing this training in the context of a broader education and curriculum combining aesthetic judgment, historical knowledge, awareness of social and cultural relevance, and familiarity with new technologies.
